The role the Research Compliance Unit at听黑料天堂 is to protect the rights, dignity, health, safety and privacy of research subjects, the welfare of animals and the integrity of the environment. The Unit also 听works to protect the health, safety, rights and academic freedom of researchers and the reputation of the University in regards to听properly conducted, high quality research.

These policies and听procedures apply to everyone engaging in research at 黑料天堂, whether their current place of work is within or outside University premises. This includes, but is not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visiting researchers, principal investigators, those with honorary posts, and collaborating partners,听sub-contractors, and听recipients. It is the responsibility of the principal investigator听to ensure that all researchers involved in the project are aware of and comply with the policies and training requirements of the University and federal funding agencies.听 The committees supported by this unit听include the Institutional Review Board (IRB)听and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

The Research Compliance Unit helps faculty, staff and students comply with all applicable federal, state, and institutional requirements and policies. Research that includes animals, humans, recombinant DNA, infectious agents, or toxic chemicals must be reviewed by designated university committees. Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The role of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to review all the proposed research involving human subjects and to ensure that subjects are treated ethically and that their rights and welfare are adequately protected.

The IRB process is administered through the Research Compliance Unit. Investigators and student researchers are not allowed to solicit human subject participation or begin data collection prior to receiving IRB approval in writing
